Why would I choose WebTop over native Microsoft dashboards?
Answer:  WebTop provides an Enterprise platform and framework for visualizing Any Data on Any Device and has been optimized for System Center and Microsoft Core Infrastructure Business Intelligence with hundreds of out-of-the-box Dashboards, Queries, Tasks that have been tested and optimized for our Fortune 2000 Enterprise Customers.  The price-to-value WebTop provides when compared to the out of the box Microsoft Dashboards most customers quickly realize that a significant amount of consulting, development or integration work would be required to obtain the value WebTop provides against a native Microsoft dashboard.
 
Why would I choose WebTop over third party dashboards?
 
Answer:  WebTop is unique, it was designed and built as a scalable framework that can adapt to any data or data source and present it back in multiple mediums for visualization on Desktops, Large Network Operations Centers, Mobile Tablets and Phones easily.  WebTop has redefined the way management and IT data is managed and visualized and by harnessing the data across System Center and other management tools provides a presentation level solution to visualize data from many places easily and without a large investment to normalize and integrate the data.
 
What type of presentation controls does WebTop offer?
 
Answer:  WebTop provides a vast set of controls for visualization of data in an asynchronous fashion using Silverlight and for Mobile using HTML5.  The following controls are supported to which can adapt to data from nearly any source:

How is WebTop licensed?
 
Answer: WebTop is licensed per Server\Instance and Per Dashboard view quantity.  Test and development instances are provided along with a production license if required.

Answer:  While we are currently building and developing custom dashboards for our customs for Service Now, Remedy, Solarwinds, Idera, IBM, BMC, Amazon, Google we have only released the following.  If you are interested in WebTop and integrating other data we can certainly help so please inquire.

Can the webtop server be load balanced?
 
Answer: Yes, There are multiple Highly available ways to load balance.

How many users can access WebTop simultaneously?
 
Answer:  The scalability of WebTop is contingent on the resources available on the Windows Server hosting WebTop. We typically advise to plan for 250-500Mb of memory on the WebTop Server for each concurrent user accessing the WebTop Server, please see the WebTop server requirements page for additional details.
 
I already have Savision LiveMaps, how does webtop add additional value?
 
Answer: The ability to connect with any data source and create real time data monitoring.
 
What mobile devices are supported by WebTop?
 
Answer:  WebTop Mobile is beta and supported all below devices.  WebTop may render differently and better on different Devices and Operating Systems. It is recommend to test it internally in your environment combined with any environmental polices to decide which mobile experience works the best.

What type of security and authentication does webtop use?
 
Answer: Active Directory
 
Will webtop work with older versions of System Center?
 
Answer: It will work but it is not supported.
 
Does WebTop require System Center?
 
Answer:  The WebTop engine itself can support data from almost any data source, cloud, etc. However the Business Intelligence analytics have initially only been built on top of System Center and Windows Infrastructure components.  We are expanding to integrate data from other products, clouds, and data as requested by our customers.

Answer:  All updates to products including Core engine, Dashboard Packs, and bug fixes.
 
How do we get support for WebTop?
 
Answer: The best way to summon support if via out Website support page, simply submit a question, problem, or request and we will attend to it promptly.
 
Can we add our own powershell tasks to WebTop?
 
Answer: Yes
 
Does WebTop integrate with public cloud solutions like Azure and AWS?
 
Answer: Yes, We have integrated it with both Azure and AWS for Customers.
 
Can WebTop show data from multiple tools on a single dashboard?
 
Answer: Yes, the basic premise of WebTop was to present data from multiple sources on a single dashboard pane without requiring to integrate and normalize the data at the database layer.
 
What are the server requirements to run WebTop?

Can we host WebTop in Azure?
Answer: yes, We have customers using WebTop in Azure.
 
How often are webtop dashboard packs released?
 
Answer: Dashboard Packs are updated quarterly for features and as needed for bug fixes.  We are attempting to release a new Dashboard Pack each month.
 
How do I apply licenses for server clusters and web farms?
 
Answer: For server clusters web farms, each server running WebTop will require a separate license to be added.
